Today there are many types and kinds of Windows which are used in the world, and then there is also a basic system which is different between Windows. There are 2 different basic systems of Windows, they are 32-bit and 64-bit. There are many users who cannot identify this thing because indeed you don’t know the difference. Whereas, the difference of those basics can influence the performance. And then, what is actually their difference? Here are some differences of Windows 32-bit and 64-bit that you need to know.

The difference of Windows 32-bit and Windows 64-bit

The ability on data processing

The difference of Windows which has 32-bit processor and 64-bit will affect the performance of certain PC. Actually, the number 32 and 64 show the amount of data that are processed in one cycle process. Usually, 32-bit means when doing a data processing, data that is loaded is 32-bit. So that in one cycle of data processing, Windows with the processor of 64bit will work faster and more maximal.

The amount of RAM used

The difference of both can be seen on the amount of maximal amount of RAM that is used. Usually, Windows 32-bit has a smaller RAM than 64-bit Windows. Windows 32-bit has ma maximal use of RAM on 4 GB (about 3,2 GB). Meanwhile Windows 64-bit can read up until 4 GB of RAM.

Compatibility on software

The difference of both which obviously affect the performance of PC is on the compatibility on software that is used. Windows 32-bit will not run the app which runs software 64-bit. Meanwhile Windows 64-bit is more flexible because it can run software 32-bit and 64-bit.

And then, what are the weaknesses and strengths of each Windows 32-bit and 64-bit?

Strengths of Windows 32bit

Can operate the old software and app with the basic 16-bit
Able to work with the optimum performance on RAM 2 GB
More compatible with older driver. Suitable with old laptop or PC

Weaknesses of Windows 32-bit

Cannot use RAM more than 4GB
Only few latest software that is compatible
Cannot be used for heavy software like After Effects

Strengths of Windows 64-bit

Suitable for running the latest software which stressing on the graphic
Faster and more efficient
